A disposition code is used internally when an applicant is rejected and is the reason why they were not selected for hire. Disposition code standardization helps prevent the exclusion of an applicant for an unreasonable or unlawful reason, and your online hiring system will include a full library of default disposition codes. When activated by the Account Administrator, a member of the hiring team will be required to select a disposition code for every applicant at the time they are rejected.
Configuring Disposition Codes
To configure disposition codes, the Account Administrator can go to System Settings > Disposition Codes. To activate or deactivate disposition codes, use the toggle to turn the feature on or off.
Adding Disposition Codes
The Account Administrator can add new disposition codes as needed.
- Select System Settings from the Admin menu and then select Disposition Codes.
- Select + Add New Disposition Code and enter the name.
- Add the new Disposition Code by clicking Create.
Working with Disposition Codes
Disposition codes are the reason an applicant is not selected for hire. Once created, disposition codes can be edited or deleted by clicking the ⋮ menu of each code.
Edit: You can edit a disposition code to make changes that you would like to apply for future uses. While editing, you can modify the Disposition Code name and click Update to confirm. If an active and applied disposition code is edited, the system will update the code automatically for all applicant files where that code was previously used.
Deactivate: Deactivating a Disposition Code immediately removes it from the active list of available codes. Performing this action cannot be reversed. If deactivating an unused disposition code, it will be deleted from the system. If deactivating a code assigned to existing applicant files, it will remain visible in those applicant files for historical purposes, but will no longer be available for future use.
Note: Disposition codes are internal, applicants do not have access to view the disposition code applied to their applicant file. Once the disposition code is applied, it cannot be altered and will be displayed in the Streams tab of the applicant file.
