Job templates that are currently in use or have been previously posted will be labeled with the job status that reflects the current state of the position. The three possible Job Status' include:
Job Status: Posted
Jobs with a status of posted are live and accepting new applicants from Job Board feeds as well as Applicant Sources for which you have generated tracking links. Jobs are automatically labeled as Posted listed in the My Jobs or All Jobs tab when a User completes the process to Post Job from a Job Template.
Job Status: Paused
Jobs with a status of paused are considered technically open so Users can process applicants in the hiring system, however, these jobs will no longer appear on your Career Site or on the job boards the hiring system feeds to. The main benefit for Pausing a job is to get caught up on applicant processing (if you've received a large influx of applicants in a short time, or have many remaining new applicants to review), or for when you are close to making a hiring decision on an existing candidate and do not wish to receive additional applicants. Paused jobs will remain listed in the My Jobs or All Jobs queue.
To Pause a job:
- Jobs Tab > My Jobs
- Select the Job Title you wish to pause
- Click the current Job Status to take action and select Pause
- Confirm you'd like to pause this job
When a job is Paused, any applicant who attempts to use an existing link for that position will be notified the position is no longer active and provided with a link to your Career Site.
Likewise, you can just as easily "Un-Pause" a position when you are ready and it will automatically return to the Posted status, so you can continue actively recruiting.
Likewise, if you wish to continue accepting applicants you can simply change the Job Status from Pause to Unpause. Taking this action will return the Job Status to Posted and automatically add the job back to your Career Site, on the job boards the hiring system feeds to and will reactivate all previously created tracking links.
To Unpause a job:
- Jobs Tab > My Jobs
- Select the Job Title you wish to unpause
- Click the current Job Status to take action and select Unpause
- Confirm you'd like to Unpause this job
Job Status: Closed
Once you have fully completed the hiring process, the job status can be changed to Closed. Upon closing a job, it will automatically move to the archive where all information relative to that job is indefinitely maintained. From the Archive, you may click any job to view details including metrics and applicant files. You may message and process an applicant from a closed position in the archive.
To close or archive a job:
- Jobs Tab > My Jobs
- Select the Job Title
- Click the current Job Status and select Close
- Determine whether or not you wish to notify applicants that the position has closed
- Confirm your decision by clicking Close Position or Send Email and Close Position
Note: When applicants attempt to apply using a link to a job that is paused or closed they will receive a notification the position is no longer active.
Tip: Changing the Job Status to Pause, Unpause or Close has to be done on an individual basis per job.
