CareerBuilder: Integrated Service Overview

Background

The CareerBuilder integration provides authorized users a means to automatically post sponsored jobs to the CareerBuilder job board directly from ‘My Positions’. A sponsored job is a paid posting that will appear on CareerBuilder’s job board for 30 days.

Once a job is posted, an entry will appear in the 'Position Details' activity stream for tracking purposes. An entry will also appear in the ‘Position Details’ tab in the Applicant Queue card.    

Feature Setup

Step #1 – Activate Service

To activate the CareerBuilder integration, go to Admin > Integrated Services. 

Click Job Boards and then click CareerBuilder Learn More.



After the client contacts CareerBuilder and enters into a CareerBuilder agreement, CareerBuilder will provide the client with an Vendor ID (activation code) to be used to activate the CareerBuilder integration by clicking Activation (top right of page). Enter the code and click Submit.



Authorize Users

Admin > Authorizations > Sponsor Jobs controls which users can post jobs to CareerBuilder. Users without this permission will not be prompted to post to CareerBuilder after posting a job. Simply check the users you want to authorize and then click ‘Update’ at the bottom of the page.



Posting Sponsored Job to CareerBuilder

Immediately after posting a job, authorized users will receive a popup asking if they wish to post the job to CareerBuilder. Simply click ‘Yes’ and the job will automatically stream to the CareerBuilder job board. An activity entry will appear in the ‘Position Details’ activity feed, thereby indicating the position was posted to CareerBuilder. Users that do not wish to post to CareerBuilder can simply click No. Please Note: there may be a delay of up to 60 minutes before the job appears on CareerBuilder. 



Sponsoring Existing Positions

Authorized users may choose to sponsor a currently-posted position(s) to CareerBuilder by navigating to My Positions (Check desired position) > Take Action > Sponsor Job.



Please Note: users without CareerBuilder authorizations will not see the Sponsor Job option under Take Action.

Job Applicant Experience

With this feature activated, job seekers will find the posting on the CareerBuilder job board. Once the job seeker clicks the posting, reads the CareerBuilder job description summary, and clicks the ‘Apply Now’ button, s/he will be taken directly to the hiring site posting.

Applink

Applink "connects" CareerBuilder.com applications to the client's own Applicant Tracking System to decrease drop-off, speed up the application process and give you hard data on where your candidates are coming from. Recruiters can make more contacts quicker with all the new candidates being channeled directly to them.

Defining a “Lite Application”

Hyrell considers new Applink applications a lite application. A lite application is an applicant file that contains a limited amount of applicant information by design: answers to yes/no questions and a resume if required, and personal contact information. A hiring manager has the option to process a lite application to an ultimate rejection or hire, or may invite the applicant to return to the application to complete all the remaining screening questions contained in the full application.

Once CareerBuilder is activated the user will be presented with a switch to activate Applink. If Applink is turned on, the user will then be presented with a final switch for Auto Invitation. 



Auto Invitations

Located just under the main Applink activation switch, this feature when turned on will automatically send out the Invitation to Complete email to all applicants that applied via Applink. This feature was designed to save you time as you will no longer need to manually send the invitation email to Applink applications.

Important note regarding Applink activation: you must notify your CareerBuilder Integration Solution Architect of your intent to use Applink, as CareerBuilder must also activate the service. Failure to inform your CareerBuilder representative will prevent applicants from being able to apply to your positions on CareerBuilder's site. 

Notes:
  • When an auto invitation is sent, the applicant’s Last Action status will change to “Applink Apply Invitation Sent”. The applicant will still be considered a new, unopened applicant after the invite is sent. Only until a user opens the applicant file will their Last Action change to “Reviewed”. 


     
  • Users can still manually invite applicants even if an auto invite was already sent by using the same process as outlined above.
     
  • When an auto invite is sent, the yellow banner located in the applicant file will indicate the date when the most recent invite was sent.


Processing a Lite Application

With this feature activated, job seekers will find the posting on the CareerBuilder job board. Once the job seeker clicks the posting, reads the CareerBuilder job description summary, and clicks the ‘Apply Now’ button, s/he will be taken directly to the hiring site posting.

The Full Application

The following is a list of actions that may not be performed unless or until the job applicant completes the remainder of the job application:
  • Virtual Interview
  • Custom Elements
  • References
  • Employment History
  • Education History
  • Residence History
  • Accidents
  • Convictions
  • DOT
  • Warehouse Test
  • Tax Credit
  • Required Document

Full Application Invitations

System users may invite an applicant to complete the remaining sections of the job application by clicking the ‘Click here’ link in the highlighted area of the applicant file. The job applicant will then receive an email containing a link to their application. 



Once the applicant completes the application, the Application Type will change to “Full Application.” You may also invite multiple applicants to complete their full applications at once from the applicant queue. Simply check the desired applicants, then click Take Action > Invite to Complete.
